We are published by BDC Investment Advisors, LLC, (“BDCIA”) .

We are a Registered Investment Advisor who specializes in the $100bn publicly traded Business Development Company (“BDC”) sector, investing in publicly traded common stocks and fixed income issues.

The BDC Reporter is the leading financial publication providing “news, views, and analysis” about the sector to sophisticated institutional and individual investors, industry participants, financial professionals, regulators and educators.

We manage a BDC-focused investment fund (“BDC II”), several separately managed accounts as well as our own portfolios. We have been invested in the BDC sector since 2006 and are based in Los Angeles

Why A Newsletter ?

We’ve been active in the markets since the beginning of the 21st century, and have experienced a wide variety of market conditions.

We’ve been asked by readers for years which BDC securities to buy or sell. However, as a Registered Investment Advisor, we cannot due to the impossibility of providing investment advice without a complete knowledge of each of our readers risk tolerance, return criteria, investment time horizon and the many other factors involved.

Instead, we are choosing to share through this BDC Best Ideas Newsletter how BDCIA invests its own capital in the BDC sector, sharing both our subsequent successes and failures and any useful lessons learned.

Each reader is free to choose what information is useful and what not in determining their own BDC investment strategy.
